Title: Dead By Daylight
Post by: Rofnay on Aug 24, 2026, 07:37 PM
I just found this clip from a YouTube video and I am genuinely confused

So a bit of context behind this: there's currently a new killer in DBD called "The Judgement" which can spawn a pillar of light called "The Divine Light" (or Cast Divine Light I'm not sure lol) and send it across the map. This pillar can't be stopped by objects it collides with, so it just goes through everything, but it stops after like 3 seconds or something. Therefore, it's easy to see on outdoor maps, but it is harder to avoid on indoor maps with small rooms because it increases its speed as it's flying (hopefully flying is a good verb to describe its movement lmao), so you can go as far away from generators if you're playing as the killer, and send the pillar to those gens so that you can maybe hit a survivor or 2 (works pretty well afaik). Although, as the dev says in the clip, you would see the pillar's aura when it's close enough to you if you're playing as the survivor.

Now, the guy that made the YouTube video that I mentioned in the beginning said that this killer was getting 4 outed (aka all 4 out of 4 survivors would escape against this killer), but that isn't the case..? I've watched a decent amount of vids of people playing as The Judgement, and it seems somewhat easy to get 4 kills with this killer if you can actually control the Divine Light and put the survivors into Exile (Exile pretty much works like hooking a survivor, except you don't have to pick up the survivor and carry them to a hook, you can just press a button). So I guess I could see why BHVR wanted to implement the changes the dev talked about in the clip, but even then at 0:52, you can see that the pillar is nowhere near hitting Dwight (the survivor), and yet the screen effect still appears, and even then, that screen effect is a pretty horrible change. However...

Apparently the reason for this change are "streamers who are yapping away, looking at their chat".
What?

This is probably the first time I hear a dev team effectively nerf something (in DBD's case, a killer), because streamers want to read their chat instead of just paying attention to the game?? Personally to me since 2025, BHVR started seeming more and more like a weird SCP that escaped containment and for some reason is still out. I don't entirely understand if they are just your typical greedy evil company, or if they are plain stupid. Every change BHVR makes to DBD fills my head with brain rot a bit, and as weird as it may sound, I don't play DBD. Even then, it's just kind of sad to witness this, they're genuinely using streamers as the reason for this change.

I wanna hear more opinions on this lmao

Apparently all of these changes are a huge bamboozle now and a silly joke according to the sequel of this whole sweet sweet drama

Anyway, good to see that the SCP is learning to be funny, but I give the joke a 2/10, didn't quite bust my bubble
