It would be an understatement to say I am not content with how things have gone since I launched the ApunoGames Forum in August 2026. Hardly any activity. The couple users who bother logging in only talk in the shoutbox and seem intimidated by simple forum features. Is it a surprise though? I suppose it isn’t.
Forum culture is a thing of the past nowadays. Discord has oversimplified the means by which we communicate as communities over the internet. If you were born past 2005, chances are you have no clue how to use a forum and the mere idea of learning probably terrifies you. An interface with more than 1 button is too complex for you.
I’m not attempting to insult you, this from what I can see is the grim reality we live in. An age of endless spoon feeding and laziness. Generations succeeding you will be far worse, as they will task AI to do everything for them instead. They won’t even know how to operate a calculator. It’s rather depressing to think about.
Anyway. I have been building a website as a central hub that leads to the forum amongst other things, and this is the blog part. This is still a work in progress, but if you’re reading this before it’s out to the public then congrats, you’re an early reader.
ApunoGames is poised to be more than a forum, regardless of its success (failure). If you haven’t figured out by now, this is our future as game developers. Current unofficial games will continue to be published as just our names, however, because it would sound a little too pretentious otherwise (also wouldn’t do us favors for our track record) .
